Grade 5
Fifth graders have many opportunities to create, perform, and respond to music. They continue to participate in weekly general music and choral classes.
Fifth graders refine their individual and group singing technique. Students focus on reading learned pitches and rhythms simultaneously. They work toward reading and writing music repertoire that includes the full scale and a variety of rhythmic patterns.
The instrumental music program continues in grade five. Band and orchestra students continue to receive small group instruction during the school day.
