Grade 4
In fourth grade, students have a wide variety of opportunities to develop their musicianship. All students continue to create, perform, and respond to music in weekly general music classes. Each week, they also meet as a grade level in Chorus.
Students continue to develop music literacy as they additional pitches and rhythms to their musical vocabulary. They also study group and individual vocal technique and apply it to the study of choral repertoire.
In fourth grade, students also have the option to join the instrumental music program. Students may choose to begin study of a band or orchestral instrument and receive small group instruction during the school day.
