Grade 1
First graders will gain increased confidence in creating, performing, and responding to music.
Through singing an expanded repertoire of folk songs, students will become more proficient in using their singing voice. They will find the rhythm (way the words go) of well known songs and rhymes.
In first grade, students begin to become musically literate. They will read and write simple musical phrases that use selected pitches and rhythms.
